Chapter 52. Understanding Themes

PHP-Nuke themes are fairly complicated critters; in this topic (and the next couple as well), I introduce you to their basic structure and show you both how you can use themes produced by others and how you can tweak them to meet your needs. I also show you the basics of creating your own theme, although I need to warn you: Theme construction requires fairly good HTML knowledge, including a firm grasp of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). This book isn't going to teach you HTML and CSS, although there are plenty of other books that can. I'm going to assume you know HTML and CSS; if you start getting into material that reads as gobbledygook, just skip ahead until it starts making sense again!
