Links and Downloads

Figure 50.4 shows a waiting download link; waiting Web links look pretty much the same. You have the option to change any of the details submitted by the user, and a Check link allows you to quickly verify that the download or link is working as submitted.

Your users can also edit the details of a download or link, which creates a modification request. Figure 50.5 shows a download modification request; Web link requests look substantially similar. You're shown the "before" and "after" view of the modification so that you can decidevia the appropriate linkswhether to accept or ignore the changes. You can't edit the changes; if you don't like the proposed modifications but agree that some modification is required, you need to ignore the modification request and manually edit the download or link.

Clicking the Broken Downloads or Broken Link link in the Waiting Content block takes you to the page where users report "broken" links, where you can check the download or link for yourself. You can click the link or download's name to try to download it on your own, and then click either the Ignore, Edit, or Delete links, as appropriate. The Ignore link removes the broken download or link report, meaning either there was no problem or you've fixed the link. Edit takes you into the link or download's details so that you can fix it, and Delete simply removes both the broken download or link report and the download or link that was reported.
