Introduction

In this chapter, we look at the individual designs of the software patterns covered in this part of the book. Each of the patterns presented in the following sections is implemented in each of the languages, but all follow the same general design. This is because each uses the Sockets API and, therefore, uses the same primitives to achieve the same results. Understanding the design of each pattern will help you to understand what is being achieved in each implementation.
