Use the graph in Figure D.1 to plot the final client ramp-up results from your tests. On the x -axis, plot the concurrent user load. Start with a small number of users and increase the user load from left to right. On the y -axis, plot the throughput, typically in requests per second or pages per second, depending on your preference. The throughput graph should increase as concurrent users increase until the system reaches its throughput plateau. If you ran with an extremely high client load, the graph may also show a "buckle zone" for throughput. Figure D.1. Summary test results graph
On the alternate y -axis, graph the response time. This graph should also increase as client load increases . Once the system reaches its throughput plateau, expect the response time graph to increase linearly. See Chapter 1 for details on the expected relationships between user load, throughput, and response time. |
