Results Verification Checklist

Use this checklist after each test iteration to verify that the test run followed the recommended testing process. See Chapter 11 for more details on each of these items and their importance.

Correct number of iterations run.

Runs of sufficient length.

Steady-state measurements.

Warm-up period to prime caches, compile JSPs, and so on.

Run-to-run variation within 4%.

Isolated environment.

Database or other back-end systems reset between runs.

Successive runs do not show a linear pattern of decreasing performance.

All measurement data recorded.

All tuning parameters recorded.

No errors reported from the test tool.

No errors in the servers' logs.
