Saving a Presentation as a Web Page

PP07S-4.3.6

PowerPoint allows you to save any presentation as a Web page. Web pages use Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)a simple coding system that specifies the formats a Web browser uses to display the document. You can save a file as an HTML or HTM file by using the Save As command. A presentation saved as a Web page consists of an HTML file and a folder that stores supporting files, such as a file for each graphic, slide, and so on. PowerPoint selects the appropriate graphic format for you based on the image's content. Once you save the file in HTML format, you can publish the Web page. To publish a Web page means to place a copy of the presentation in HTML format on the Web. You can publish a complete presentation, a custom show, a single slide, or a range of slides.
