sysfs is another virtual file system that provides an easy interface to the kernel parameters. Currently, all nonprocess information in the procfs is ported to sysfs. The plan is to combine the sysctl and /proc interfaces into one. sysfs is also designed to replace devfs because drivers are expected to be ported to the new interfaces. This file system is automatically generated by the kernel and updated whenever devices are added or removed. Using sysfsThe parameters can be viewed or changed by writing to the appropriate file in the sysfs file system. |
