Opening Files of Different Types

Word recognizes and can open files created in a wide variety of other programs including, but not limited to: Lotus 1-2-3, WordPerfect, Windows Write, Excel, Outlook, Schedule, and Microsoft Works. When you open a document that was created in an older version of Word, Word opens it automatically into the current version.
