Adding Menus and Menu Items

Just as you can add toolbar buttons to toolbars , you can add menu commands to any existing menus. You can even create your own menu and add just the commands you want. If, for example, you design a specific worksheet that will be used by others, you can create a specific menu just for their use. This menu can contain the commands they'll need while using your worksheet.

Add a Menu Item

Click the Tools menu, click Customize, and then click the Commands tab.

Click the category that contains command(s) you want to add to the menu.

Click the command you want.

Drag the command to the desired location on the menu.

Click Close.

Create a New Menu

Click the Tools menu, click Customize, and then click the Commands tab.

Click the New Menu category, and then drag New Menu to the desired location on the menu bar.

Right-click the new menu on the menu bar.

Type a name for the menu, and then press Enter.

Click a category, and then drag the commands you want on the new menu, and then click Close.
