Conclusion

We have made a real two- tier (client/server) application. Code that is running on the server in PHP is cooperating with ActionScript in the browser. Best of all they are communicating freely in XML! Our satisfaction is somewhat modified by the fact that we are still running out of hardcoded tables in memory. Real applications generally have powerful database back ends. And so shall we!
