Management Style

There is no one style of management that proves more effective than others. I have seen quite a few different management styles among business leaders . Some are type-A screamers, some are quiet and methodical, and others are slap-on-the-back marketing types. Much of a leaders management style depends on personality in this way, and it doesnt seem to make a significant difference in a companys success.

However, all the successful mangers who I know possess one common trait. They have an unerring sense of what their customer wants. Attention to the customer is the true gauge of management success. These managers know what their customers pain points are, and they know how to solve them. This has proven to be a key factor for leaders across many industries.

My personal management style is that of a consensus builder. I want to hear all sides of an issue from the rest of the management team, and then drive to a common vision about how to move forward. If there is discontent or a lack of harmony, these are warning signs. Lets face it, not all great managers have true insight into every problem that they face; they need to rely on the consensus of their management team. If a CEO moves blindly forward against the counsel of their management team, then there isnt much point of having a management team at all.
