Inundated with Advice?

Over the years as a business executive, I have received over a thousand pieces of advice, either through reading, seminars , school or mentors. Some business leaders may think there is some silver bullet piece of advice that when followed delivers success. This clearly just isnt the case. I guess its like asking Warren Buffet or Bill Gates whats the key to their success.

However, if I had to synthesize some of these key pieces of advice, I would say the best business advice Ive ever received has revolved around customers. Every business decision you ever make should be made with your customer in mind. This is also the piece of advice which I most often find myself telling other employees . I frequently ask them, What are the implications of this decision on our customers?
