About the authors

Susan Dann BA, MPubAdmin, PhD, FAMI, CPM

Dr Susan Dann is Associate Professor (Marketing) at the Brisbane Graduate School of Business QUT.

Susan has published widely on a variety of management related topics in books, journals and magazines and presented her research at conferences both nationally and internationally. Her specific areas of interest are the non-traditional applications of marketing, including social marketing, public sector marketing and sports marketing.

Her books include Strategic Management (Pearson Education Australia), co- authored with John Viljoen, Strategic Internet Marketing (John Wiley) and Introduction to Marketing (John Wiley), both co-authored with Stephen Dann.

In addition to her university role, Susan is Director (Research) at Sparten, the reporting and rating agency, and is a member of the AFL Queensland Commission.

Stephen Dann BA, BCom (Hons), PhD (Griff. )

Stephen Dann holds a first class honours degree and PhD in marketing. He is currently the Senior Research consultant for Sparten, the national sports, hospitality and sponsorship rating firm.

Prior to joining Sparten, Stephen was a lecturer in the School of Marketing, Griffith University. He has spoken at national and international conferences on his research and received a personal invitation to the Princess Diana memorial conference in London to present his research on the potential use of the Princess of Wales death in road safety campaigns .

Stephen has lectured on communications theory and practice internationally, and was a visiting Professor at Emerson College in Boston.

Stephen s areas of specialisation are Internet marketing strategy, communications and consumer behaviour. Publications include two books on marketing, Strategic Internet Marketing (John Wiley) and Introduction to Marketing (John Wiley), both co-authored with Susan Dann. He has also published research papers from international conferences and several journal articles.
