Best PracticesPractice Makes Perfect

When you start learning Flash, it can be frustrating and sometimes overwhelming. Be patient. Take your time, keep practicing, and be sure to play. Explore the tools without a project deadline; just experiment with what you can do with Flash.

To experiment without danger of losing what you've already created, get in the habit of implementing simple version control for your projects by using Save As with a new filename, rather than using Save whenever you make changes to a file. This way, you can revert to an earlier version if you make a mistake. If you're working as part of a team that uses a formal version control system, you can still follow the naming convention in your shop while adding suffixes for your own local file versions.
