Troubleshooting

I added a cool pop-up navigation menu to my site that I created in a previous version of Fireworks. Can I update the JavaScript-based menu to the new CSS-based ones created by Fireworks 8?

Sureas long as you saved the PNG file (the one with all the layers and behaviors intact) for the original menu. You did save that PNG file...right?

Because I'm positive that you saved that PNG file, all you have to do is open it in Fireworks 8 and re-export your navigation menu. After you have done that, just copy and paste the code generated by Fireworks into your web pages and you're good to go.

I have made a few buttons on a black background by using the rectangle tool, black fill, no outer line. I converted those buttons to a symbol and adjusted the up, down, and over graphics. Everything is still black, but only the text changes color on the rollover. But when I view the buttons in a browser, they all have white lines! Help!

Check to make sure you are not working on a transparent canvas. To resolve this issue, change the canvas color to the color of the HTML page on which you'll be putting the buttons and everything should be fine.
