Panel Sets

The interface consists of the same basic elements as the other Studio MX programs: a main menu bar and tool bar, the Stage, the Toolbox, the Property inspector, and numerous other panels. The basic operation of these elements is described in Chapter 3, "Introducing the MX Interface," and the interface you see when you start Flash is pictured in Figure 3.1.

For more on the common Studio MX 2004 interface, see Chapter 3, "Introducing the MX Interface," page 23 .

Panel sets are a unique feature of Flash MX 2004 that allows you to instantly bring up any desired panel configuration. Just create the panel layout you want; choose Window, Save Panel Layout; give the new layout a name ; and save it. Any time you want to bring it back, go to Window, Panel Sets, and select it. There is also a Default set, which returns you to the layout you see when you first install the program, often a good neutral starting point.
