Extensibility Toolkit

The best way to get started extending is to explore the SDK. The kit consists of information and tools for customizing, extending, and integrating with Visual Studio Team System. Its intended audience includes partners, early adopters, and evaluators who want to explore the extensibility and integration characteristics of various components of the Visual Studio Team System suite.

Much like this chapter, the features in the Extensibility Toolkit are categorized into two groups: customer extensibility and partner extensibility. Customer extensibility includes features, tools, and documentation needed by users to customize Team Foundation Servers and Team Projects. These features are intrinsic to Team System. Partner extensibility includes features, tools, and documentation required by partners to build add-ins and integration components that add value and round out Team System.

The Extensibility Toolkit may end up becoming the Team System SDK.
