Viewing Work Items

Viewing Work Items

The testing process starts with a tester creating a test for some aspect of the system. The trigger for this activity will generally be a new work item. This would typically be a task and might possibly be accompanied by a notification from the alert system. Based on the work item's requirement, the tester will create the appropriate kind of test and include it in an appropriate test list. In some cases, the tester might need to create and assign a new work item for another team member to review the test. After the new work item is reviewed, the tester can run the tests, record any defects, and then close out the work item(s).

This section examines how testers can create and manage their tests and then examines each type of test.
