About the Technical Reviewers

Steven Kalman is the principal officer at Esquire Micro Consultants, which offers lecturing, writing, and consulting services. He has more than 30 years of experience in data processing, with strengths in network design and implementation. Kalman is an instructor and author for Learning Tree International. He has written and reviewed many networking- related titles. He holds CCNA, CCDA, ECNE, CEN, and CNI certifications.

Alexander Marhold, CCIE #3324, holds a master of science degree in industrial electronics and an MBA. He works as a senior consultant and leader of the Core IP Services Team at PROIN, a leading European training and consulting company focused on service provider networks. His focus areas are core technologies such as MPLS, high-level routing, BGP, network design, and implementation. In addition to his role as a consultant, Marhold is a CCSI and develops and teaches specialized training courses in his area of expertise. His work experience also includes teaching at a polytechnic university for telecommunications, as well as working as a CIM project manager in the chemical industry.

Kevin Turek, CCIE #7284, is an engineer in Cisco's Federal Support Program in Research Triangle Park. He earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Before working at Cisco, he was a consulting engineer for a nationwide firm in the Raleigh, NC area, where he was responsible for supporting multiple global customers.
