When using 1000BaseLX/LH GBICs with 62.5 micron MMF, a mode-conditioning patch cord must be used for distances greater than 300 m (984 ft).

In many cases, you might find that you need to know the pinout connections for various network cables. The RJ-45 connector is commonly used across many media, but with different pinouts for each. Table B-2 shows the pinout for an RJ-45 connector when used with specific media.
