About the Technical Reviewers

Randy Ivener, CCIE No. 10722, is a security specialist with the Cisco Systems Product Security Incident Response Team. He is a CISSP and ASQ CSQE. He has spent many years as a network security consultant, helping companies understand and secure their networks. Before becoming immersed in information security, he spent time in software development and as a training instructor. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a master's degree in business administration.

Terry Ratzlaff, CSS1 and CCDP, has more than 12 years of experience in the information technology industry. Currently he is a senior network consultant with Acrodex and is the security team leader. He has extensive experience with firewall and VPN solutions, including Internet perimeter and SCADA applications. He currently provides network infrastructure design, analysis, and support to various clients, with a focus on security solutions. His past experience includes Microsoft solution design and implementation, along with technical training as an MCT.

Larry Roberts, CCNP, CCSP, is currently employed as a network engineer and security specialist for a major insurance firm in Indianapolis. He has more than eight years of network design and engineering experience. In his spare time, he does security and network infrastructure consulting, helping his clients build reliable and secure networks as well as evaluate potential open-source solutions. When not studying for the CCIE exam, he likes to spend time with his wife, Tara, or ride motocross with his friends.
