Answers

A1:

The Applications menu is at the extreme upper left of your Fedora Core 4 desktop, in the menubar.

A2:

To change the active window, you click a window's title bar or anywhere inside the window to focus it.

A3:

You can restore a minimized window by clicking its button in the taskbar.

A4:

You log out by choosing Desktop, Log Out.

Activities

  1. Try starting a number of applications to fill your desktop. Then experiment by moving them around, minimizing them, and focusing them one by one.

  2. Put a running application on another virtual desktop. Then switch to that desktop to display it.

  3. Start a few applications and then log out, choosing to save your session. Log in again and notice how your applications have been restarted and placed for you.
