When I try to use chkconfig to enable some services, I get an error message about files not being found. Why?
A1:
In most cases, you get this message because you have not installed the required software to support the service in question. Refer to Chapter 31 for details on how to install additional Fedora Core 4 Linux software.
Q2:
I have created a new cron task, but it doesn't seem to be running. Why?
A2:
First, if your task is a script, double-check to make sure that it begins with #!/bin/sh and is marked as executable. If your changes were made in the vi editor, make sure that you saved the file before exiting. Finally, depending on where your script is located, you might need to call it with a full path, such as /home/you/bin/myscript instead of just myscript.
