Q1:	I have been instructed to log in to a machine anonymously using ftp. What does this mean?
A1:	An anonymous login can best be thought of as a guest login for public use; when you log in to a remote system anonymously, you have access only to certain restricted files and directories that the system administrator wants to make public. To log in anonymously, use either anonymous or ftp as your login name (they are functionally identical) and enter your email address as a password. Then log in and use ftp as usual.
Q2:	When I use telnet or ssh to connect to a remote system, I am sometimes disconnected for no apparent reason if I am inactive for a little while. Why?
A2:	To protect remote login sessions from being hijacked by malicious users, many system administrators implement a default remote login timeouta period after which you are automatically disconnected if you haven't pressed a key.
