Summary

In this chapter, you learned how to change the most commonly modified desktop properties in Fedora Core 4 using the Desktop, Preferences menu. Among the desktop properties you learned to change are the behavior of your mouse (including suitability for left- or right-handed use), the color and appearance of application windows, and your desktop wallpaper and screensaver.

You also learned to add icons for your favorite applications to the menubar so that you can launch them without having to access lengthy menus. Finally, you learned to move around items on your menubar so that they appear in convenient logical order for you and to remove items from your menubar that you no longer want to appear there.
