Logging On to Instant Messenger

Once you launch Instant Messenger you will have to log on by entering your screen name and password. You can configure Instant Messenger so that it automatically remembers your password and logs you on whenever you start the program.

1. Click on the Instant Messenger icon in the Quick Launch Bar. Instant Messenger will launch.

   

2. Double - click in the Screen Name text box if your screen name is not already entered.

3. Type in your screen name .

4. Press the Tab key . Your cursor will move to the Password text box.

5. Type in your password . It will appear as a series of asterisks so that anyone watching the screen will not be able to see it.

6. 1. Click in the Save password check box if you are the only one who uses this program. This will save you from having to enter your password whenever you launch Instant Messenger.

      

      OR

   2. Click in the Sign on at launch check box if you want to automatically sign in to Instant Messenger whenever you launch the program.

7. Click on the Sign on to Instant Messenger icon . You will be signed in and ready to send instant messages.
