Archiving Tool

Have you ever seen the infomercial for a food sealer device? They fill a jar full of marshmallows, suck out all the air, and the marshmallows become a fraction of their original size . This is basically the concept for the Archiving Tool, but rather than marshmallows, you can compress and expand files on your computer. Typically files are compressed to save space, either on your hard drive or for downloading or e-mailing . In fact, most applications that you download from the Internet will be archived or compressed in some form or another. Archiving is also particularly useful for sending large files, like pictures, via e-mail. The Archiving Tool supports a variety of different compression types, allowing you to open from and compress to various compression formats.

  1. Click on the Launch button . The Launch menu will appear.

  2. Click on Programs . A list of program categories will appear.

  3. Click on Utilities . A list of the utility programs on your computer will appear.

  4. Click on Archiving Tool . The Archiving Tool will launch.
