Perceiving Angst

  • Worriers are people who experience angst as the result of their judgments . Worriers fret. They believe there is something ahead of them that will bring doom down on their heads. Their meta-thought has created a picture of a possible bad outcome, and they cant seem to take their eyes off it. When they identify themselves with the fear, they lose sight of the objects themselves . There may indeed be something out there to be afraid of, but getting lost in the fear is like believing in ghosts. But there are no ghosts in the world. There are only objects.

  • Prisoners also perceive anxiety, only in their case they sometimes dont really know what their eyes are stuck on. They just know that they have made a judgment based on some conflict between how they want things to be and how they actually are. Getting engrossed in the feeling that flowed from the judgment means losing sight of the facts and dwelling on the intangible.

  • Victims are people whose meta-level consciousness has judged that there is a possibility of blame being levied on them. They move to resist the judgment. But there is no blame in the world. Blame is not an object. It is no more tangible than a self. Both are constructs of the meta-world.
