4.7. Wrapping Up

 < Day Day Up >

Building and maintaining a secure server is a nontrivial and never-ending task for the system administrator. Starting with a carefully built system, it is important to control who has access and what users and administrators can do. Keeping up to date with security and reliability fixes to the operating system and installed software requires that you stay informed and prepared. Finally, keeping tabs on how your systems are running will give you insight into whether any of them might be misbehaving. Following the guidelines set forth in this chapter will help you build a more easily maintained and secure systems infrastructure.
