Using Web-Safe Colors

When you create images for the Internet, it's important to make sure that the colors you use look the same when viewed on the Internet. Some people have monitors that can only display up to 256 colors, so colors outside of that range will not appear properly. Painter has a Web-safe color palette in which the colors will appear the same, regardless of the type of monitor on which they appear.
