Figure 10-1 shows a simple setup for Sametime Links using a single MUX, single community hub, and single server application (SA). This is the default configuration when installing Sametime on a single server. The server components described above are processes that can run on a single server or be distributed on several servers. The tests simulated clients using a Java program running on additional servers.

The Sametime server includes additional services, such as the Buddy List Service, that are not shown in Figure 10-1 because they did not play a significant role in the results. These services are connected to the community hub like the Sametime Links SA and are always installed on the same server as the community hub.

Figure 10-2 shows the large configuration with 300,000 simulated users.
