The publishing service interfaces between the WCM application and the highly specialized publishing schemes in a customer dictated hosting environment. The publishing service was built to support the fragment-caching mechanisms of the hosting environment. IBM helped shape the publishing service for customers who require high performance for a Web serving environment.
