Another Office Suite

 < Day Day Up >

There is yet another free office suite in the Linux world called KOffice, which is the KDE office suite that is also included in Fedora Core. I’ve never found much use for KOffice, as it is not as intuitive to use as one would expect, and it comes with a lot of rather useless extras that just waste space, at least in my mind.

If you are interested in KOffice, however, you can find out more by going to http://koffice.kde.org. If you think you’d like to install it after giving that site a look, you can do so quite easily via the Package Management window. Just go to the Main menu and select System Settings > Add/Remove Applications. When the Package Management window opens, scroll down to the Office and Productivity section and click the Details link. Once you’ve done that, the Package Details window will open — just check the checkbox next to koffice. Click Close to close the Details window, and then click Update in the Package Management window.
