Create CSS Rules

In previous versions of Dreamweaver, the Properties inspector served as the main tool to format and style text. As we showed in the previous section, it still makes sense to use the inspector to create headings and lists. As of now, however, all other formatting tasks should be done using the more powerful CSS Styles tab. Using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) also makes it much easier to reuse styles and update them across your Web site. (See extra bits on page 32.)

In the CSS Rule definition dialog box, click the Font drop-down menu and choose Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif. Set the Size to 18, the Weight to bold, use the Color drop-down menu to choose a strong red (#CC0000), and click OK to close the dialog box.

Save your work before going to the next page.
