This book describes each technology in HP's Virtual Server Environment (VSE) which is comprised of the industry's most complete partitioning continuum, a set of utility pricing solutions, a suite of high availability products, a complete set of management tools, and finally the industry's only goal-based workload management products. This book serves as a guide-map in deploying an efficient and flexible computing infrastructure using HP's Virtual Server Environment

Several of HP's VSE technologies are supported on HP-UX, Linux, OpenVMS and Microsoft Windows operating systems. For example, HP nPartition servers support all four operating systems running simultaneously. Additionally, the HP Serviceguard products both support HP-UX and Linux operating systems and the HP Global Workload Manager is supported on HP-UX, Linux and OpenVMS. The Pay Per Use technology supports HP-UX and Windows. This book covers the full capabilities of HP's VSE on each operating system supported by the VSE technologies and notes which operating systems are supported by each technology.
