Summary

Air traffic controllers depend on the Final Approach Spacing Tool to ensure that the airways are safely and efficiently used. FAST brings together many systems in one tool to provide air traffic controllers with the capabilities they need to more effectively use the airport and airspace. In fact, initial tests showed that FAST has increased arrival rates and departure rates, while ensuring passenger and aircraft safety.[3]

HP's Virtualization Manager provides an analogous integrated set of tools for system administrators. VSE configuration and visualization, workload and policy management, and scenario analysis tools are all available from this single console. Virtualization Manager enables existing resources to be utilized more effectively while ensuring that workloads are allocated adequate hardware to meet their service-level objectives.

In addition to Virtualization Manager's visualization and configuration capabilities, gWLM and Capacity Advisor are both seamlessly integrated. Furthermore, Virtualization Manager is integrated with HP Systems Insight Manager, which provides features such as user-based security, event management, and automated system discovery. This suite provides a comprehensive set of management tools with unique features made available only through the integration of the individual components in HP's Virtual Server Environment.

Virtualization Manager provides the single console that allows administrators to manage their Virtual Server Environment more efficiently. Just as FAST unites a set of tools that allow air traffic controllers to be more effective, Virtualization Manager gives administrators the information and capabilities to transform their data centers into Virtual Server Environments.
