What Is Covered in This Book

This book is not intended to be a product reference. There are currently 14 products in HP's Virtual Server Environment and putting together even a brief reference for all of these technologies would not be practical in a single book. Instead, the goal of this book is to provide a thorough survey of the technologies for you to identify which solutions will best fit in your IT infrastructure and to provide enough detail so that you can assess what it would take to implement and manage the environment. There is enough information in this book for a project manager to put together a project plan and have a high level of confidence in their estimates of the work required to implement an Adaptive Enterprise strategy using the VSE. There is also enough detail in the product chapters to help managers or system administrators to know which commands and utilities are available for each of the products so that you will know where to look for more information.
