This chapter briefly reviews the IPX protocol suite and completes the lab objectives associated with this chapter. With the release of NetWare 5 by Novell, NetWare file servers can communicate natively with TCP/IP. However, there is a substantial installed base. As a result of this install base, the need for Novell file servers that still use IPX and the need for internetworking devices to support IPX are still requirements in most enterprise networks today.
