2.9 Conclusion

As you can see quite clearly, these scenarios are built upon the trends we talked about in Chapter 1. If you look at these scenarios, you will find the kinds of interactions that "agents" would have to have and the kind of protocols that would be efficient or inefficient. You will find more detailed descriptions of agents throughout this book. These agents , their interactions, and their protocols are the basis for me-centric computing architecturethey make it possible to receive and perform delegated work.

The ecosystem of me-centric appliances is glued together by infrastructure that provides enabling communications and servers/services, and to the extent the appliances are mobile, this is about wireless mobility. The key elements of this me-centric architecture are the smart infrastructure, the smart services, and the smart devices. These scenarios should help you to understand what the future can look like and help to validate the general proposition that there are countless arenas to be addressed, with many similarities but with a wealth of diverse functionalities, as appropriate to the domain.

From these examples, it has become quite clear that me-centric computing will be everywhere, changing the nature of every occupation . Me-centric computing consists of a set of capabilities/roles operating in an ecosystem glued together by pervasive computing and communications. In the next chapters, we will go into more detail how these futuristic scenarios can become reality soon.
