Buttons can have instance names. This is important because with instance names , we can talk to these buttons through ActionScript. The major difference between a button and a graphic or movie clip is the Timeline. The button has a Timeline that consists of four named frames: Up, Over, Down, and Hit. You can embed movie clips or graphic symbols in a movie's Up, Over, and Down frames . When creating an invisible button, Hit is the only frame you use. Combining buttons with actions lets you create interactivity. Button symbols can be tested in the Flash authoring environment.
