The Flash Player 6 is the device used to display the movies that you create in Flash MX. The Flash Player resides on your local hard drive, where it plays back movies in a stand-alone player or through a Web browser player. NOTE Many computers and Web browser applications ship with the Flash Player 6 included. You can download the Flash Player 6 and any upgrades from the Macromedia Web site. Once within the Flash Player, a whole new menu system is available. There is the menu bar at the top of the screen and the right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Macintosh) pop-up menu. De-selecting the Display Menu option in the Publish Settings dialog box within the HTML tab disables this pop-up menu. You can also set Menu to false in the EMBED and PARAM HTML tags. For a detailed discussion covering all the functionality and attributes of the Flash Player 6, see Chapter 16, "File Size Optimization," and Chapter 17, "Profiling."
