Requirements Analysis DeliverableColumn Six

At the conclusion of a requirements analysis project, the following should be produced.

  • Restatement of vision, goals, and objectives of the enterprise, especially with respect to this project. As appropriate, include a discussion of the mission, strategies and tactics that will address the vision, goals, and objectives.

  • Business policies that pertain to the subject area under consideration.

  • All applicable business rules, specifically constraints and action- enabler rules. Terms and facts should have been defined under Column One (Data). Derivations, cardinality, and optionality may be shown in the Column One data model, but their definition is a Column Six responsibility. Several means of describing the rules are available.

    • English (or your natural language) is required (Row Two).

    • Rule patterns provide a structured way to represent them (Rows Two or Three).

    • Ross notation or ORM provide graphic approaches (Row Three).

    • Other techniques may be developed in years to come.
