Chapter 13: Readiness: Tools for Managing Incidents and for Drilling

WHY YOU SHOULD READ THIS CHAPTER

The expression "Practice Makes Perfect" is not correct! If you are practicing something incorrectly, doing it over and over and over will not correct it. The phrase should be, "Practice Something Perfectly to Maintain Perfection." The only way to attain anything close to perfection is to practice until you discover your errors, get feedback and make corrections. Emergency, Disaster and Readiness drills need to address the physical and the emotional needs of your people. Reading this chapter will get you started in seeing how to include emotions in your regular emergency drill practices.
