Setting Drawing Scale and Unit of Measurement

You can set the scale of drawings. This is particularly useful for architectural drawings. In a 1 to 10 scale in centimeters, for instance, every centimeter you draw on-screen will print as 10 centimeters. You can set the scale, anywhere from 1:1 to 1:100, and 2:1 to 100:1.

Selecting a Scale

1. Choose Tools > Options > Drawing > General; the window is shown in Figure 29-29. Be sure the correct measurement system is selected in the Unit of Measurement field.

2. From the Scale list in the same window, select the scale you want.

3. Click OK.

Selecting a Unit of Measurement

1. Right-click on the ruler at the top or right of the workspace. (If it isn't displayed, choose View > Rulers.) You can also choose Tools > Options > Drawing > General.

2. Select a unit of measurement.
