Writer lets you insert, or import, entire text documents into the flow of a Writer document. The documents you insert can be in a wide range of non-Writer formats. You can also insert parts of other Writer documents.

The inserted document uses the page formatting of the document you insert it into; but if you insert another Writer document, it brings all of its styles with it.

Inserting Other Documents

1. In Writer, click where you want to insert the document.

   

2. On the toolbar, click and hold down the Insert tool, then click the Document tool.

3. At the bottom of the Insert window, select the File type of the document you want to insert, then find and select the document.

4. Click Insert. The document is brought into Writer.
