The PostNuke user system is a fairly complex collection of modules. Throughout the recent releases of PostNuke, there have been steady increases in the features and customization options via the stock administrative interface. But the system is not completely dynamic yet, and that can become a problem if you need a capability not possible with the current configuration. Site developers needing more features have, in the past, primarily turned to three extensive modules and hacks of the system: pncUserHack, ProfilePlus, and X-User. pncUserHack and ProfilePlus each provided a number of useful additions to the user system, but neither are available for PostNuke .75. Many of the features of pncUserHack are now being incorporated into PostNuke 0.8, but there is no support for the changes under .75. ProfilePlus is now unavailable with license restrictions. X-User is also no longer in development, but it is both available and functions under PostNuke .75. You look at this module, along with a number of custom hacks in the following sections:
