Chapter 19. Managing Configurations for Different Product Types

Configuration management to be performed for a given product depends on the nature of the product. Products may be relatively simple or complex, or something in between. They may be harmless, with no great impact on human lives or other companies, or extremely safety-critical, or something in between. As indicated in the previous chapter, any product has a combination of these attributes or factors that coexist with other factors, such as the development model, that must be taken into consideration singly and together.
