Business Explorer Analyzer functions are driven within a Microsoft Excel add-in called SAPBEXO.XLA. As part of the SAP BW frontend installation, this add-in is automatically included in Microsoft Excel, as shown in Figure 11-2. The BEX Analyzer menu bar is automatically loaded and displayed in a blank spreadsheet when you launch Microsoft Excel. Figure 11-2 shows the BEX Analyzer menu bar for both SAP BW versions 1.2B and 2.0A. Notice that BEX Analyzer menu options in SAP BW 2.0A are quite different than in SAP BW 1.2B.

The BEX Analyzer for BW 2.0A will be used to describe SAP BW reporting capabilities using a simple InfoCube for product sales analysis, as shown in Figure 11-3.

The demonstration InfoCube has six dimensions (Material, Customer, Distribution channel, Time, Unit of measure, and Data packet) and one key figure (Amount).
