SAP BW is going through a rapid development cycle, and it will take some time for it to become a mature and stable product. The future release will have the additional functionality to implement a stand-alone Operational Data Store and the Business Document Server. The next challenge facing SAP is to focus on Internet frontends and performance improvements in all processes needed to construct, deploy, and operate a global data warehouse. In my opinion, SAP will meet that challenge.
