6.8. Checking Your Word Count

It's often necessary to count your document's words, lines, paragraphs, and pages. Word keeps a running tab of pages and words in the status bar at the document window's lower-right corner (Figure 6-20). To see more details, double-click the status bar to bring up the Word Count box. Addressing gripes from earlier versions of Word, Microsoft has added checkboxes that let you include or exclude text boxes, footnotes, and endnotes from the count.
